Dolores knows about stroke all too well. She was a nurse and saw firsthand how stroke took her husband John. After retiring and travelling around Australia in a caravan, John started complaining about crippling headaches and blurred vision, Dolores phoned for an ambulance straight away.
John had a series of strokes, culminating in a massive stoke that put him on life support. Dolores had to make the heartbreaking decision to turn off John’s life support. Being a nurse, Dolores understood all too well what had happened, but she still has moments when she wishes things had been different and they had spotted the initial signs of John’s stroke. Dolores has thoughtfully included a gift to the Stroke Foundation in her Will to help fund more research and put a stop to stroke in the future.
