About our partnership

Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation supported the establishment of the StrokeSafe Ambassador Program in Hunter, Central Coast, Mid North Coast, Central West, new England and Northern Rivers regions of NSW to educate and raise public awareness about strokes.

The StrokeSafe Ambassador program is designed to educate the general public about what stroke is, how to prevent stroke, how to recognise the early warning signs of stroke and what to do if someone has a stroke, as well as raising public awareness of the Stroke Foundation.

The Stroke Foundation now has 12 fully trained volunteer StrokeSafe Ambassadors in these regions of NSW, including stroke survivors, carers and health professionals who continually conduct educational presentations to community groups.

About our partner
Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation provides grant funding for eligible not-for profit organisations and community groups to enable these organisations to deliver important projects, initiatives and programs that address issues of disadvantage in regard to health, social wellbeing and young people.

More specifically, the Foundation funds projects aimed at improving community health and well-being for those most in need, improving life outcomes for disadvantaged and at-risk young people, and improving the social wellbeing of the marginalised and isolated in our community.

Each year, they distribute over $1.5 million in grant funding to eligible organisations across the Hunter, Central Coast, Central West, Mid North Coast, New England and the Northern Rivers areas of New South Wales.
