It Takes Different Strokes Charity Gala with a Twist
August 08, 2014
A collective of leading chefs are set to don their culinary hats and create a sensory feast on Wednesday 10 September, during National Stroke Week. Seven handpicked chefs will curate a dinner inspired by art at the National Stroke Foundation’s signature fundraising event, Brushstrokes.
Sydney’s iconic Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf will be transformed into a contemporary, one-night-only, art gallery. Unique, purchasable works of art donated by artists such as Wayne Ashton, Bern Emmerichs, Samantha Lord and Kylie Banyard will bring a visual pop to the night.
Guests are invited to dress artfully minded and feast on a degustation inspired by well-known paintings. With some of Australia’s most creative chefs and artists on-board it is sure to be a night of full of sensory twists and surprises.
Chefs set to combine their creative expertise and craft dishes to delight the senses include: Simon Johnson (Simon Johnson), Richard Ptacnik (Otto Ristorante), Michael Moore (O Bar and Dining), Julia Taylor and Jean-Michel Raynaud (Baroque Patisserie). They will be joined by Melbourne’s culinary darlings Scott Pickett (Estelle) and Joe Grbac (Saint Crispin).
Leading celebrities have put up their hand in support of the event and are set to attend including National Stroke Foundation advocate Chris Bath and Sarah Murdoch.
Brushstroke is an opportunity to support the National Stroke Foundation and enjoy a gastronomic journey of taste, discovery and stroke solidarity.
