Stroke Care Champion Award Finalists
Australia’s unsung heroes of stroke are being recognised for their efforts through the 2015 Stroke Awards.
Sixty people have been nominated for an award this year across four diverse categories - improving life after stroke, creativity, fundraising and stroke care.
Run in conjunction with the Stroke Society of Australasia, the Stroke Care Champion award aims to recognise health professionals in the field of stroke.
The Stroke Care Champion award finalists:
- Dr Rohan Grimley, Director of Geriatrics and Rehabilitation Southern Cluster Sunshine Coast Wide Bay District Health Service (Queensland)
- Rachel Peake, Stroke Care Coordinator, Tamworth Base Hospital (New South Wales)
- Barbara Wolfenden, Postgraduate Researcher (PhD), LaTrobe University & The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health (Victoria)
- Dr Lavinia Codd, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Queensland Brain Institute (Queensland)
- Sarah Kuhle, Clinical Nurse/Clinical Nurse Consultant, Redcliffe Hospital (Queensland)
- Alisha Anderson, Senior Physiotherapist, Fiona Stanley Hospital (Western Australia)
- Larissa Andriske, Occupational Therapist, Barwon Health (Victoria)
The judging committee of health professionals was unanimous in their thoughts that every single person nominated deserves to be commended.
