My stroke hero

August 28, 2019

By Belinda

This National Stroke Week I would like to thank my young daughter Savannh for saving my life.

On the 22nd August 2018 I suffered an ischemic stroke. I was 37 years old.

Savannh found me unconscious on the floor of my bedroom and dragged my lifeless body across the floor to my bathroom. She put me in the shower to try to wake me up and then she called triple zero (000).

This quick action saved me.

Savannh, “Thank you, my beautiful angel, for giving me the gift of life and more time to see you grow up.”

Because Savannh called the ambulance immediately, I received clot retrieval therapy at Liverpool Hospital, and I have made a remarkable recovery.

Savannh and timely treatment have given me my life back. I can continue being a mum to my precious daughter. #strokeweek2019
