Stroke Crisis Appeal

It could have, it should have, happened so much quicker

Lynne is talking about the time it took to get her mum, Judy, into life-saving surgery after a stroke. “It was nearly five hours by the time she went in for surgery.”

Although Judy had the stroke in hospital, it was in the early hours of Saturday morning. The hospital didn’t have protocols for clot retrieval surgery on weekends. With every minute’s delay parts of Judy’s brain were dying.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Read about Judy and Lynne’s story and find out how you can help demand that every Australian has access to critical treatment after a stroke.

StrokeLine Appeal

There aren’t enough words to describe what StrokeLine has meant to me. The support and inner peace I have found from my connection to StrokeLine has been a lifeline.
Stroke Survivor, Sue Bowden

StrokeLine is the only dedicated help line for people affected by stroke in Australia. But without your support, calls could go unanswered. StrokeLine is a lifeline for people after stroke. Yet it receives no government funding. StrokeLine relies entirely on the compassionate support of people like you. Please donate today to keep services like StrokeLine running.

As Sue says so beautifully, “It’s a path to helping people find their way back.” Read more about Sue’s story here.
