MedAdvisor’s latest partnership agreement set to help hundreds of thousands of Australians

Australia’s leading digital medication management company, MedAdvisor, has partnered with the Stroke Foundation to improve health outcomes across the country.

The partnership will see MedAdvisor and the Stroke Foundation, a national charity, working together to affect change at a time when the financial burden of stroke-related disease is estimated to be $5 billion a year.

With many stroke survivors requiring medication for conditions such as high blood pressure, cholesterol and irregular heartbeat, MedAdvisor will play a crucial role in increasing medication adherence through its innovative medication management platforms.

MedAdvisor is currently used by more than 630,000 people across Australia and is connected with 45 per cent of Australian pharmacies. It is a medication adherence platform that comes in the form of an app that helps patients keep track of their medications.

The partnership with the Stroke Foundation is another string in the bow for MedAdvisor, which also has relationships with other leading health associations such as Glaucoma Australia, Diabetes Australia and Osteoporosis Australia, reaching a total audience of approximately 5.5 million patients.

Robert Read, MedAdvisor CEO, said the partnership would directly improve the health of Australians affected by stroke.

“MedAdvisor is committed to improving the health outcomes for those requiring ongoing treatment and medication and with stroke patients so often requiring ongoing after care and medication, MedAdvisor is well placed to aid these patients.

“Through our platform we have the ability to significantly enhance the manner in which patients manage their medication and drastically improve the process.”

Stroke Foundation CEO Sharon McGowan said the organisation was proud to partner with MedAdvisor to help the stroke community improve their health outcomes through better medication adherence.

“Ongoing management of stroke risk factors, such as blood pressure, is essential for many stroke survivors,” Ms McGowan said.

“Currently almost half of stroke survivors will experience another stroke within 10 years, but some of these strokes can be prevented by managing your stroke risk.

“Medication has a key role in reducing stroke risk and MedAdvisor will help make taking and managing these treatments easier.”
