Things are moving fast out here

Things are moving fast out here! The stroke wards are chock-a-block, nurses and rehab crews are flat out, and the Stroke Foundation’s StrokeLine (1800 787 653) - mate, it’s ringing off the hook with people from all over the country looking for help, answers, and a bit of hope.
Strokes aren’t picky either, it’s hitting everyone from newborn bubs to our wise golden oldies. Doesn’t matter where you’re from or what you believe in - stroke doesn’t discriminate. It’s having a crack at Aussies from all walks of life.
Now here’s the kicker, we’re staring down the barrel of 131 strokes a day across the country. Yep, that’s one every 11 bloody minutes. That’s not a stat we want to be breaking records for, that’s for sure.
So, I’m chucking on the walking shoes again and hitting the pavement to raise awareness and hopefully a bit of coin for the Stroke Foundation. They do amazing work, and honestly, they don’t get half the support they deserve from the powers that be - don’t ask me why, it’s way above my pay grade, but they’re out there having a red-hot go.
I’m planning to walk 51km by the end of May, chipping away at it 4km a week (give or take, depending on how the body’s feeling, my stroke fatigue’s still a bugger, even four years on!
I’m still in rehab every week, sometimes every day, depending on how the dice rolls.
So, if you can spare a few bucks or just help spread the word, I’d be stoked. It all helps.
And hey, do yourself a favour and get a check-up. Life’s not a trial run. Look after yourselves and look out for each other.
Cheers legends!
