Celebs Brush Strokes

September 12, 2014
Sydney socialites Sarah Murdoch and Chris Bath joined 250 plus guests at Brushstrokes, the National Stroke Foundation’s signature gala event on the evening of Wednesday 10 September.

Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf was transformed into a contemporary, one-night-only, art and food gallery. Guests purchased pieces donated by more than 30 artists.

Sarah Murdoch’s portrait was painted live on stage by performance artist Brad Blaze. The finished painting, created in less than five minutes, went to auction and sold for $10,000, with funds going to the National Stroke Foundation.

Guests feasted on the culinary delights of elite chefs who donated their time and produce to support the National Stroke Foundation. Chefs supporting the event included Simon Johnson (Simon Johnson), Richard Ptacnik (Otto Ristorante), Michael Moore (O Bar and Dining), Julia Taylor and Jean-Michel Raynaud (Baroque Patisserie), Scott Pickett (Estelle) and Joe Grbac (Saint Crispin).

Other celebrities who attended this prestigious fundraising included Edwina McCann, Anna Lisle, Casey Burgess and Luke Webb.

Brushstrokes took place during National Stroke Week.
