Summary

Communication Connect is an online platform that was co-designed by people living with communication disability after stroke and traumatic brain injury, their carers, health professionals and researchers.

It helps support people with communication disability, their carers, family members and health professionals.

You can find tools and support for recovery and getting on with life.

Carers and family members can also enrol in our online carer program to learn valuable skills to support your caregiving role.

The research team are testing Communication Connect in the Castlemaine, Loddon Mallee, Sydney and Melbourne regions.

In this study, you are invited to use Communication Connect and give feedback.

Eligibility

The researchers are looking for people who:

  • have aphasia from a stroke
  • have a communication problem from a brain injury
  • care for someone who has aphasia from a stroke
  • care for someone who has a communication problem from a brain injury.

To participate you need to:

  • Be over eighteen (18) years of age;
  • Live in any of these areas:
    • the Loddon Mallee region
    • the Castlemaine and Bendigo region
    • the Melbourne region
    • within 1 hour drive of Royal Rehab, Ryde, Sydney NSW 2112.

Activity

  • Complete surveys at the start of the study (online or in person)
  • Use Communication Connect for three (3) months.
  • Complete surveys again one (1) month and three (3) months after the first time.
  • Take part in an interview to share what you thought of Communication Connect.
