Notice of consultation period updated Guidelines for Stroke Management

DRAFT UPDATED GUIDELINES FOR STROKE MANAGEMENT (acute antiplatelet therapy, oxygen therapy, cholesterol therapy, weakness and shoulder pain topics)

The Stroke Foundation Guidelines Writing Group has prepared draft guidelines for stroke management providing evidence-based recommendations relating to acute therapy (antiplatelet therapy, oxygen therapy), secondary prevention (cholesterol lowering therapy) and rehabilitation (weakness, shoulder pain).

These guidelines will be submitted to the NHMRC for approval under section 14A of the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992.

The Stroke Foundation are seeking submissions on the draft guidelines as part of the approval process from 14 September – 30 October 2020.

The draft guidelines (chapters 3, 4, 5 & 6) are available to view electronically from the Stroke Foundation website InformMe. Additional information is also available here.

Availability

The draft guidelines will be made available to the public on 14 September 2020 and all submissions must be received by 5pm, 30 October 2020.
