In the Shoalhaven region, over 5,000 people are living with stroke and around 670 of them are aged under 65.

Did you know that 80% of strokes are preventable? With the right treatment, many people can recover well from stroke.

Stroke Foundation in Partnership with NSW Government are bringing together Shoalhaven locals to raise awareness of stroke and we want you to be part of the action.

What is the 'Be Stroke Aware in Shoalhaven' Project?

'Be Stroke Aware in Shoalhaven' is a one-year project designed to increase stroke awareness across the region. The project focuses on helping people recognise the F.A.S.T. signs of stroke (Face, Arms, Speech, Time), so they can take action fast and save a life. Through tailored education, community events, resources and local media, the project brings practical, lifesaving information directly to the Shoalhaven community.

We’re working alongside community leaders, local champions and health professionals to broaden the reach of the F.A.S.T. message – ensuring more people know to call triple zero (000) at the first sign of stroke.

How can you get involved?

We’d love you to be part of the movement. Register your interest to:

  • Host a stroke awareness event with support from Stroke Foundation
  • Receive and share F.A.S.T. resources with your networks
  • Partner with us to reach your community

Just leave your contact details, and we’ll be in touch with more information soon. Let’s work together to make Shoalhaven stroke-safe!
