In the Shoalhaven region, over 5,000 people are living with stroke and around 670 of them are aged under 65.

Did you know that 80% of strokes are preventable? With the right treatment, many people can recover well from stroke.

Stroke Foundation in Partnership with NSW Government are bringing together Shoalhaven locals to raise awareness of stroke and we want you to be part of the action.

What is the 'Be StrokeSafe in Shoalhaven' Project?

'Be StrokeSafe in Shoalhaven' is an exciting new initiative to help more people across the region learn about stroke and recognise the signs of stroke, so they can take action fast and save a life. Backed by the NSW Government and led by Stroke Foundation, this one-year campaign will bring tailored education, resources, events and media to the Shoalhaven community – all aimed at helping everyone recognise the signs of stroke sooner so you can act quickly to save a life.

How will we work together?

We’re teaming up with local community leaders, passionate locals and health professionals to spread the F.A.S.T. message (Face, Arms, Speech, Time). Together, we’ll build strong partnerships, run community events, share resources, and raise awareness so that more people know to call triple zero (000) at the first signs of stroke.

How can you get involved?

We’d love you to be part of the movement. Register your interest to:

  • Host a stroke awareness event with support from Stroke Foundation
  • Receive and share F.A.S.T. resources with your networks
  • Partner with us to reach your community

Just leave your contact details, and we’ll be in touch with more information soon. Let’s work together to make Shoalhaven stroke-safe!
