Notice of public consultation for draft updated stroke guidelines

Antiplatelet therapy, standing balance, activities of daily living, fatigue, sexuality

(Updated 23 March 2021 to add another recommendation change for activities of daily living)

The Stroke Foundation Guidelines Working Group has prepared draft guidelines for stroke management, with evidence-based recommendations for secondary prevention (antiplatelet therapy), rehabilitation (standing balance and activities of daily living), managing complications (fatigue) and community participation (sexuality).

These guidelines will be submitted to the NHMRC for approval under section 14A of the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992.

As part of the approval process, the Stroke Foundation are seeking submissions on the draft guidelines from 18 March to 30 April 2021.

Availability

The draft guidelines were made available to the public on Thursday 18 March 2021, and all submissions must be received by 5pm, Friday 30 April 2021.
