Stroke Strategy Consultation Survey

March 04, 2024

With our Stroke Strategy 2024 coming to an end, it is time to develop an updated strategy.

Our Stroke Strategy will be a roadmap for achieving our mission.

Stroke Foundation is part of a strong community. Our stakeholders include survivors of stroke, their families and carers, health professionals, researchers, our partners and supporters. Our stakeholders are key to the success of our Stroke Strategy.

Get involved - Complete the first consultation survey by 9am Tuesday 12th March 2024.

Surveys aren’t for everyone. If you need help completing the survey, contact Jude, the Strategy Project Working Group Chair on jczerenkowski@strokefoundation.org.au or phone 03 9918 7253.

“We value and need the contribution of people with lived experience of stroke. There can be no effective or authentic Stroke Foundation strategy without co-design and co-production. So, let’s get involved!”

-Mr Robert Campbell, Member Stroke Foundation Board and Chair, Stroke Foundation Consumer Council

Why do we need to update our Stroke Strategy?

Our updated Stroke Strategy will define the strategic actions we need to take to achieve our mission, and our measures of success.

Our updated strategy will build on our current strategy. We did extensive consultation for Strategy 2024, which told us that our Mission and Vision are still relevant. So, we expect these things to remain the same:

  • Vision: A world free from disability and suffering caused by stroke.
  • Mission: Prevent Stroke, Save Lives and Enhance Recovery.

Despite this expectation, we welcome all feedback from our stakeholders.

“Our strategy is about what we want to achieve and how we are going to achieve it. It is our map and without it we will be lost. This is our strategy, a strategy for the stroke community, so the only way to make it meaningful is to have the involvement of the stroke community. We cannot do this alone!”

-Dr Lisa Murphy, Chief Executive Officer, Stroke Foundation

What will our Stroke Strategy focus on?

Our updated Stroke Strategy will focus on what matters most in achieving our mission.

It will focus on what we’re best at and the value we bring. It will ensure our resources are being used in the right places. It will help us secure support for our work and be a sustainable organisation.

How will we develop our Stroke Strategy?

Our Chief Executive Officer, Dr Lisa Murphy, is leading the update of our Stroke Strategy, with the support of the Stroke Foundation team.
