Body image after stroke

Who it’s for: Survivors of stroke
What it involves: Survey

Summary

We all hold an internal image of our body that is constantly changing. Stroke can alter this image in many different ways - perhaps not positively.

Researchers from the Adelaide University (including people with lived experience of stroke and rehabilitation professionals) want to understand this area and whether we need to develop better ways of evaluating and supporting people after stroke.

By hearing about your experiences they want to learn more about these body image changes and if they matter to people’s rehabilitation and recovery after stroke.

Eligibility

  • Adult (over 18)
  • Confirmed stroke 4 or more weeks ago
  • Residual physical impairment
  • Read and answer questions in English.

Activity

The survey should take around 10–15 minutes.

You can ask someone to help you to complete it, so long as the answers reflect how you personally think and feel.

Your answers will be anonymous, so you can be very honest.
