Summary

Researchers from Flinders University invite people with lived experience of stroke to share about their experiences of being included in stroke conferences.

This study aims to:

  • Understand the experiences of people with lived experience of stroke who attend or present at stroke conferences
  • Explore the benefits and challenges of being involved in these events
  • Find out how conferences can better support and include people with lived experience in the future.

Eligibility

  • Have lived experience of stroke (as a survivor or a carer/supporter)
  • Have attended online or in-person, presented at, or helped organise a stroke conference in Australia between 2023 and 2025 (e.g., Smart Strokes, Stroke Forum, Asia-Pacific Stroke Conference, etc.)
  • Are aged 18 years or older.

Activity

  • A one-on-one online interview (via Microsoft Teams).
  • The interview will take about 45–60 minutes and will be scheduled at a time that suits you.
  • You’ll be asked about your experience, expectations and thoughts on being involved in stroke conferences.
